Dr. Sketchy's Burlesque Life Drawing!

Last November, my brother Jordan and I went to a "Drink and Draw"-type event where you go draw burlesque dancers as the life models. The model was "The Chocolate Glamazon", Sydni Devereaux. She was cool. And fun to draw.

As it turned out, she voted my drawing 'Best of the Night'. That was pretty cool.

Oil portraits

In September, I took my first oil painting workshop with Henry Stinson. We painted 2 portraits per day. These are a couple of the ones that I thought came out OK... It was fun and very informative. I wish I'd gotten better photos, this was the best I could do at the time...

Cleaning out Skullbabyland

Hey all,

So I've decided to clean out Skullbabyland and make it more of a personal sketch site. Some of the other artists who've contributed great sketch work in the past may find that their entries are no longer on the site... Never fear, they're saved in a private bunker in an unknown location and will resurface on a new blog soon.

That being said, after being wildly re-excited by the work of the late great Mike Wieringo, I'm going to try to post new sketches here daily (but don't flame me if it's more like once a week...)
